SLT Assessment
All therapeutic support starts with an assessment of the young person. This will consist of a combination of formal tasks and activities, observation, discussion with care givers, liaising with other professionals and discussion with the young person themselves (as appropriate). This information will lead to a written report and guide the goals and structure of the therapy input.

1:1 SLT Sessions
Once an initial assessment has taken place, 1:1 therapy sessions can begin. These typically happen at the home of the child or young person but may happen elsewhere depending on the nature of the therapy. The number of sessions will differ depending on the child or young person's needs and will be guided by the goals, progress and evidence for different approaches.

SLT Advice
If you are unsure whether Speech and Language Therapy is the right choice for a child or young person, let's have a chat! This can be a short phone or video call to discuss any concerns you have regarding a child or young person's speech, language, communication or mental health needs. From this, we can decide whether further SLT assessment is needed.

Functional Communication & Community Skills
Accessing community services and the world around you is essential. Functional Communication encompasses everyday skills such as expressing needs and wants, asking for help, ordering food in a cafe, buying a train ticket, talking to your GP and so much more. SLT can equip children and young people with the tools they need to engage in real-world communication situations.
